John Thacker

John Thacker is a research programmer at the Schaeffer Center. Before joining USC, he worked as a research analyst for Abt Associates a government contractor that specializes in government program research, evaluation, and implementation. Most recently his work centered on COVID research projects for the CDC where he developed DQ processes/diagnostics and built analytic files delivered to the client. He also worked on different criminology based projects developing analytic files built from administrative data collected from state prisons and the federal USMS pre-trial detention system, along with conducting some research on the effect that opening a dispensary had on the levels of crime in the surrounding area.

John received his BS in Quantitative Economics and Mathematics from Tufts University.
