Jeremy L. Shane's Bio

Jeremy Shane has been a co-founder and leader of businesses in online health, higher education, and wholesale energy trading.  He is currently developing an approach to combat chronic disease using life insurance, called Life for Health.  Jeremy has led operations of online health publishers HealthCentral and WebMD/Medscape.  From 2015 until 2022, he was a General Manager at 2U, helping top universities develop and operate online degree programs, and developing products to improve program affordability and student outcomes.  Before entering health care, Jeremy helped build Exelon Corporation’s wholesale electricity businesses, later co-founding a software company to manage utilities’ power supply portfolios.  Jeremy began his career as a health policy aide in the Civil Division of the US Justice Department.  He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in International Relations.
