Chris Scannell is a clinician scientist and a non-resident scholar at the USC Schaeffer Center. His research focuses on assessing drivers of financial burden for patients with chronic diseases and addressing healthcare disparities in accessing specialty medications. Currently, much of his research centers on the utilization of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists among patients with diabetes and obesity, as well as exploring policy solutions to improve equitable access to these medications.
Chris completed postdoctoral training in health services research through the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and the UCLA National Clinicians Scholars Program. He completed his residency through the UCLA Internal Medicine Program. He earned his MD and PhD from the Keck School of Medicine at USC and graduated with a BS in Molecular Biology from the University of Washington.
