Kukla Vera's Bio
Kukla Vera is a special advisor to the USC Schaeffer Center. Previously she was director of external affairs, where she led a team of communications, events and development staff to promote the center's research to policymakers, media, academia and the public.
Prior to joining the Schaeffer Center, Vera served as senior director of communications at the USC School of Pharmacy for 10 years. She is a seasoned communications professional with an extensive background in public relations and marketing, having led a range of projects including co-producing a health series for NBC's Today show, producing multiple press kits for ABC and Fox, and directing national consumer health campaigns meeting the objectives of both corporate and nonprofit sponsors.
She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, with a BA in English and communications (double major).
