Schaeffer Center faculty meet with Zhejiang University President Lin Jianhua

Professors Julie Zissimopoulos and Mike Nichol were among the representatives from the University of Southern California who met with a delegation from the prestigious Zhejiang University, led by President LIN Jianhua. Zhejiang University is one of China’s foremost research universities.

 

The two groups spoke about their experiences with the health care system and health policy in the U.S. and China, and honed in further to discuss each university’s educational programs in health policy and economics in light of national and global landscapes. The Schaeffer Center team also described the mission of the center and best practices for starting up a leading health policy center within a short period of time.

 

Zhejiang University’s President, Professor LIN Jianhua, was born in October 1955 in Baotou, Inner Mongolia and has a B.S. and a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Peking University. He has previously served as Executive Vice President and President of Peking University, and President of Chongqing University. He was named President of Zhejiang University in June 2013.
