Dr. Huesch Awarded Nearly $1M in Public and Private Grants
Dr. Marco Huesch is awarded nearly $1 million in selective public and private grants, from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) as well as Lockheed Martin corporation.
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) in conjunction with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy [they kicked in 45k indirect cost sharing!] has awarded Dr Marco Huesch at the Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics a two year $699,942 grant, that will leverage innovative social media approaches to increase awareness of and interest in public reports of hospital and provider quality, with the intended result of allowing consumers to access easy-to-understand, readily accessible reports that allow them to compare providers and sites of care based on quality and value at key decision points.
The Lockheed Martin corporation, a global security and technology company, has awarded Dr. Huesch a one year $200,000 grant, renewing and extending an initial commitment of $275,000 made earlier this year, that will continue to develop new business models for safer and more efficient healthcare delivery with the intended result of allowing private corporations to unlock value for patients, providers and payers in the healthcare system by deploying innovative technology and identifying non-traditional healthcare business models.
