Schaeffer Researcher Arthur Stone Tackles the Big Question of What is the Ideal Age
In an interview with Wall Street Journal report Clare Ansberry, Arthur Stone discusses his research on wellbeing and age. Stone is a professor at the Schaeffer Center and the USC Dornsife Center for Economic and Social Research.
What is the perfect age? When it comes to psychological well-being and life satisfaction, 70 is a good age says Stone in the article. Worries due to money, jobs, and children diminish overall well-being during the ages of 20 to 50 but these worries, along with stress diminish and well-being increases after age 50 until age 70.
“People settle into who they are and accept and make the best of it,” Stone is quoted as saying in the article.
