This conference will include presentations of two research papers: one presented by Steve Lieberman, a non-resident fellow at the Center for Health Policy at Brookings, and the other by Neeraj Sood, director of research at the USC Schaeffer Center.
Two reactor panels of stakeholders (including an insurer, PBM, pharmacy organization, manufacturer, and consumer advocate) will discuss ways of fostering more competition in the distribution chain following the presentation of papers. Paul Ginsburg, director of the Schaeffer Initiative, will moderate one panel which will focus on branded drugs. The second panel, focusing on generics, will be moderated by Darius Lakdawalla, associate professor at the USC Schaeffer Center.
This conference is being planned by the Schaeffer Initiative for Innovation in Health Policy, a partnership between the Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics at the University of Southern California and the Center for Health Policy at Brookings.
