About Dr. Caroline Carlin:
Dr. Caroline Carlin is an Investigator with Medica Research Institute whose research focuses on choices made in the delivery and financing of health care services, and how those choices impact the costs and quality of care. Dr. Carlin’s emerging work includes a study of the structural environment surrounding the delivery of health care, and how that environment affects the delivery of care. She earned her Ph.D. in Health Services Research from the University of Minnesota and subsequently held a faculty position in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota.

Her research is informed by her pre-academic career as a health care actuary (earning a Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries designation) and as director of benefits for a national discount retailer. Dr. Carlin continues as an adjunct professor in the Department of Applied Economics.
